Areas of Study for Clerkships

The UNSW Medicine Clerkship Program offers non-UNSW Medical student placements at our Clinical Schools. Each clinical school has a number of clinical specialities.

If you’re eligible for entry into the program, select your preferences from the following specialisation/disciplines.

Important details to note

  • UNSW Clerkships are not offered during early December to the end of January each year with the exception of limited placements in Paediatrics and Obstetrics and Gynaecology (Please see outline below). No more than one specialisation/discipline placement can be offered or split between two different units or hospitals.
  • Clerkship placements are subject to availability and will be arranged via a participating UNSW Clinical School in the following areas of study.

Obstetrics & Gynaecology (O&G)

Placements are offered between January to end of February, July to end of August and early November to December each year.

O&G placements are arranged through the School of Women’s and Children’s Health at either: 

  • The Royal Hospital for Women
  • St George Hospital
  • Sutherland Hospital, or;
  • Liverpool Hospital.

 

Paediatrics

In 2022, four-week placements may be offered commencing 4th January, 31st January, 4th July and 1st August.

Clerkships are not offered from July to November each year.
