Christina completed her Bachelor of Science in Bionanotechnology from South Westphalia University of Applied Science, Germany, and her Master of Science in Biotechnology from the University of Münster, Germany. She started her PhD at the Kirby Institute in 2018 under the supervision of A/Prof Stuart Turville and Prof Anthony Kelleher.

Her research interests revolve around delivery technologies for gene therapy agents, specifically on how the delivery of current gene editing technologies, such as CRISPR/Cas9, can be optimized. She is currently exploring the application of bacteriophage MS2 coat proteins and their MS2 RNA stem-loops in packaging Cas9 mRNA into highly fusogenic VLPs to target resting CD4 T cells.
