Bio

Ria Hopkins is a PhD candidate and research assistant at NDARC since 2020. Her interests include pharmacoepidemiology, public health, and healthcare policy. Her current work includes projects aimed at identifying and addressing issues in health service utilisation and access by people with chronic non-cancer pain, including those on long-term opioid therapy. With a Bachelor of Health Science (Hons) and a Master of Public Health, both from Monash University, previous work has included examining opioid prescribing in acute settings. She is particularly interested in the impact of opioid prescribing regulations and increased attention on opioid-related harms on people living with chronic pain.
