Deborah Cromer

Senior Research Fellow

Dr Deborah Cromer is a Senior Research Fellow in the Infection Analytics Program at the Kirby Institute, UNSW.

Research Interests:
I am interested in the application of mathematical models to understanding infectious diseases from both a within host and a between host perspective. My research has included the application of models to understand both the host and vector response to malaria, population genetics of HIV and platelet kinetics. I also have an interest in epidemiological modelling, and have investigated the spread of mumps, rotavirus and influenza.

My current projects involve modelling malaria infection (both within host and epidemiological modelling), assessing the cost-effectiveness of vaccination against influenza, evaluating mutation and recombination rates in HIV and modelling CMV growth rates.
