Learning Centre

The Learning Centre provides academic skills support to all UNSW students. They offer individual consultations for students, academic skills workshops, the Postgraduate Coursework Day and online academic skills resources. As a new student it would be good for you to look at the information below so you are aware of the support services available should you need it.




Online Academic Skills Resources


The Learning Centre also provides a lot of information and resources online to assist students in developing the wide variety of academic and communication skills required for successful study.



Individual Consultations


The Learning Centre provides individual consultations to students that run for 50 minutes and must be booked in advance online. Further information can be found here.



Academic Skills Workshops


The Learning Centre runs academic skills workshops on campus throughout Semester 1 and 2 on a wide variety of academic skills including:

  • Essay writing
  • Oral presentations
  • Writing reports
  • Referencing
  • Critical Thinking

Postgraduate Coursework Day


The Learning Centre runs a Postgraduate Coursework Day specifically for Postgraduate Coursework students in Semester 1. It usually runs on a Saturday and comprises a number of short workshops on academic skills. This is a highly recommended workshop for those students who have returned to Postgraduate Study after a long break between study. Further information can be found here
