Recipients of the 2019 HDR Speed Mentoring Award and PhD candidates Yunhe Huang, Buna Bhandari Bhattarai and Sylvester Okeke ran a qualitative research webinar series for students and novice researchers.
Recipients of the 2019 HDR Speed Mentoring Award and PhD candidates Yunhe Huang (UNSW Medicine and Health), Buna Bhandari Bhattarai (UNSW Medicine and Health) and Sylvester Okeke (UNSW Arts, Design and Architecture), organised a qualitative research webinar series in October 2020. The webinar series featured Dr Husna Razee, Associate Professor Kylie Valentine, and Professor Karen Fisher, who each presented on different aspects of qualitative research for beginners.
According to Yunhe Huang, "Our aim was to help other students and novice researchers understand qualitative research methods in a health context and become more confident in using these methods in their own work. With an overwhelming response from 200 UNSW and external attendees, the webinars were informative and well-received, who engaged with each presenter in the Q&A segments. We hope that our event helped students and researchers develop greater confidence in using qualitative methods in their work.”
