Special Notes

• Training to be a doctor and working as a doctor is both physically and emotionally demanding. Doctors are exposed to stress and disease. If intending applicants have any concerns about these issues or if they are aware of any reason (such as a chronic illness, a disability or a criminal conviction) or any impairment that might make it difficult to gain medical student registration with the Medical Board of Australia or to practice as a doctor after graduating from UNSW, they are urged to speak about these important matters in confidence with one of our independent Faculty advisers. To arrange this, contact the Faculty’s Student Wellbeing Advisor

• As it is not considered appropriate for children under the age of 16 to participate in clinical training, applicants who will be under the age of 16 years at the commencement of Year 1 should discuss their proposed application with the Faculty on (+61 2) 9385 8765.

• UNSW is currently planning a first-level entry six year articulated MD. Details of these changes will be available through this website following University approvals processes. For further information see "From MBBS to MD: changing the UNSW degree".
